StretchLume combines a project-specific LED layout, tensioned translucent membrane and precision perimeter system to create a continuous field of architectural light.
Typical component build-up
The finished luminous surface is created by coordinating the lighting, protection and diffusion layers as part of one project-specific assembly.
A luminous ceiling treats the illuminated surface as part of the architecture. Dimensions, supporting structure, LED spacing, membrane selection, output, controls and access are coordinated as one system—helping project teams achieve uniform light without exposed fittings or visible hotspots.
StretchLume can form a discreet flush-mounted ceiling, a surface-mounted architectural lightbox or a suspended luminous raft. Bespoke dimensions, curved forms and larger fields can be developed around the building and the required lighting performance.
Luminous ceiling, backlit stretch ceiling and illuminated ceiling are different terms for the same principle: LED lighting installed behind a tensioned translucent membrane so the complete surface becomes the visible light source. StretchLume coordinates the lighting, diffuser and perimeter construction as one system.
The finished appearance depends on the relationship between available void depth, LED beam angle, spacing, output, reflective surfaces and membrane transmission. StretchLume layouts are developed around these variables rather than applying one standard spacing to every ceiling.
